At Owl Ranch, our story begins with a love for adventure, a passion for purpose-bred dogs, and one incredible German Shorthaired Pointer named Benelli.
We’re a small, dedicated program in Eastern Virginia, built on the belief that a dog should be more than a companion; they should be a partner, a teammate, and a true member of the family.
Everything started with Benelli, the kind of dog that changes everything. Her intelligence, drive, and versatility inspired our mission: to preserve and produce German Shorthaired Pointers that embody the best of the breed; strong field instincts, trainability, and a loving, loyal nature.
Benelli represents everything we aim for: a dog who hunts hard in the field, learns fast in training, and settles quietly at home. She’s the foundation of Owl Ranch and the heartbeat of our vision.
We focus on quality, not quantity. Each breeding is carefully planned with an emphasis on temperament, health, and versatility; producing dogs who can excel in NAVHDA and AKC venues, perform in the field, and live happily as family companions.
Our goal is to maintain the integrity and balance of the breed while helping each puppy reach its full potential.
Our dogs are part of everything we do; from hunting trips and training days to hikes, lake swims, and quiet evenings on the porch. They’re family first, partners always, and living proof of why we love this breed so deeply.
